The second "Daria" TV movie ends the series with a look at the paths Daria and her classmates take after high school.
Daria's first choice college is Bromwell, an Ivy League school that Tom is also applying to. She travels with Tom and his mother to visit the school, where Tom (whose entire family attended the college) does better at the admissions interview than she does. Tom gets in, she is waitlisted, but she gets into her second-choice college, Raft. Daria is upset that she didn't get into Bromwell, until Helen admits that she didn't end up going to her first-choice college either, and Raft is still a good school. Tom offers to use his family's influence to get her in anyway, which doesn't work, and eventually Daria breaks up with Tom because she doesn't want to deal with such a long-distance relationship with a guy she doesn't have that much in common with anyway. They decide to remain friends.
Jane applies to two state colleges, both of which reject her, and ponders applying to Boston Fine Arts College (BFAC), which requires her to send a portfolio. Trent tells her that she doesn't need college to become an artist, and Jane decides to forgo higher education. Daria does not take this well, and Jane eventually gives BFAC a shot. She gets in, and Trent admits that the real reason he objected was because he'd be lonely without her. She tells him he could visit her whenever she wants, and the Boston music scene would be beneficial to him in several ways.
Quinn is forced to find a job to pay for an expensive shoe purchase. She begins to work at an elegant restaurant, where she makes friends with co-worker Lindy, a college student with a drinking problem.
Stacy's birthday wish--that Sandi would just shut up--ironically comes true when Sandi comes down with Laryngitis. Stacy feels guilty over the wish, but does not accept Sandi's rather steep demands to make it up to her. Thus, she goes on "sabbatical" from the Fashion Club (which Quinn is already on because of her job). Tiffany also takes a sabbatical, and, with Sandi the only remaining member of the group, the Club breaks up.
Jodie applies to Crestmoor, an elite university, but only because her father pressures her to do it. She really wants to go to her father's alma mater, Turner, an all-black college where she feels she'll fit in better. She applies to both colleges and is accepted into both, but is afraid to stand up to her parents until Mack intervenes.
Brittany, as well as the entire cheerleading squad, is accepted into Great Prairie State, an easy-entry college. Kevin, on the other hand, flunks and is forced to repeat the year.
Ms. Barch starts pressuring Mr. O'Neill into marriage, something he has no control over until Mr. DeMartino helps him stand up to her. Mr. O'Neill breaks up with Mrs. Barch, who gives DeMartino a black eye in retaliation... but later the couple is back together because Barch is turned on by O'Neill's sudden assertiveness.
And, after five seasons, Upchuck finally gets lucky... with Andrea, the goth girl.

Un film sur Daria? moui, pourquoi pas... mais c'est trop long. Beaucoup de longueurs (notamment lorsqu'on revoit les flash-backs...)
